»HUMAN AFTER ALL«

Dorothee Deiss, Bahar Kaygusuz, William Minke, Franziska Rieder, Alina Simmelbauer, Jan Stradtmann, Katrin Streicher, Alexa Vachon, René Zieger

Important update: please see below…

The exhibition project “Human After All” examines aspects of identity through photography; it dives into different areas of life, deals with notions of mankind, home and environment, vigilance and power; it raises questions on women’s and minority rights – and reflects the current image of Berlin.

In a balanced mix of portraits as well as reportage and staged photography, the nine positions of the participating photographers reveal the contrast between subjective experience and the objective testimony of human existence in the present.

The photographers collective “Human After All” was founded in Berlin in 2016 by Betty Fink. It consists of nine professional artists, all working with the medium of photography and having their life/work focus in Berlin. The deliberate decision for this city allows a decided, curious view from the outside, which is characterized by the different geographical origins of the photographers.

Update, Oct 23rd:

Dear friends, colleagues and art lovers,

We are sorry to announce that our group exhibition “Human After All” will not take place this week.

Due to ambiguous problems with local authorities, the owner of the property canceled our exhibition five days before the scheduled opening. Sadly, we have to postpone our show indefinitely until we find a new space to do the work justice. A more detailed statement will follow as the details unfold.

The presentation of Alexa Vachon’s exhibition and book RISE, scheduled to take place during our group exhibition, will go ahead as planned! Venue: “die wellenmaschine” in Berlin-Kreuzberg.
Read more here on PiB.
