In our increasingly connected world, we have access to thousands of images of peoples’ lives in different locations — some of which portray acute human suffering stemming from poverty, natural disasters and wars. These images of people affected by crises are critical to catalyze public awareness, funding and other assistance for people affected by disasters. But these images can also exploit the people whose deeply personal struggles and tragedies are spread around the world in the news and social media. How can images of people affected by poverty and crises help improve their lives and not exploit their suffering? Presented by Julie Schindall who is a Senior Advisor with Shift.

Presentation is in conjunction with the Finissage of the current exhibit in Green Hill Gallery: Sandra Calligaro, „Afghan Dream“ // Clovis P. Toraman, „Continente Inospitale“
